an old film-loaded friend is dusted off.

digging through my old wooden chest this afternoon, i finally located my first 'grown up' camera. i hugged it to my chest and did a happy little twirling dance on the spot.

as a child, i had a kodak ektralite 10 camera, in pink. they took 110mm film. i thought i was pretty groovy as i paraded around, pretending to be a professional photographer.

[ooooh. yes.]

then for my 15th birthday, i was presented with a most magnificent 1964 asahi pentax spotmatic. it was love at first sight: a beautiful object. i used it constantly for years. it took brilliant shots, i tell you. sadly, i have no idea where the majority of the negatives are.

[deliciousness]

after digging it out, i found that it still retains a half-spent film within. i have absolutely no idea when it would date back to. i guess i need to finish it and have the photos developed. so i was thinking of having it serviced and seeing about a new lens addition [or two]. then, perhaps, i might take it away with me. it will compliment my little lumix quite nicely.

it's all a little exciting.
