english is a strange language.

and becomes more amusing when you try to explain things to non-english speakers. take, for example, a word such as stroke, which has a number of meanings. to suffer a stroke, in the medical sense. a brush stroke, in an artistic sense. to stroke one's hair, in a personal sense. then there are words with a prefix or suffix. surely these words should stand by themselves once the additives have been deleted. for example, inept: should 'ept' then mean that you are very skillful? no. it does not exist as a word. also, a new word for today: somnambulism is the official term for sleep walking.

on slightly different note: sbs news reader
lee lin chin has an amazing wardrobe. i might be a little jealous.
