pitchfork.tv has lovingly recorded a number of fabulous artists [including of montreal, grizzly bear, camera obscura and andrew bird] in an old chapel, as part of the cemetery gates live sessions. the sound is simply stunning, given the amazing acoustics of the space in which the artists play. here is friday's music treat from sigur rós frontman jónsi, who's divine voice simply soars with magic in 'hengilas'.
as an aside, sigur rós has a new live album which is released on 7th november. i recently added a number of old back-catalogue and live albums to my collection [thank you bertie blackman]. yes, i am shuddering with excitement.
